Yes. Choose Edit text and click on a line. It's replaced with text you can change, in the same position, size and colour, with a matching background. We use a free look-alike of the original font (for example Carlito for Calibri, Arimo for Arial), so it may differ very slightly from the original.
Yes. Choose Edit text on a scanned page and press Detect text: the words on the page are found (in your browser) and become clickable, so you can edit them like normal text. Detection works best on clear, typed English text.
Your choice when you download. "Remove it permanently" deletes covered text and images from the file (pages you covered become pictures, so their text can't be selected). "Just cover it" keeps pages as real text, but covered content is still inside the file — don't use that option for private information.
Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first. Some damaged files can't be read.
