How to turn an Excel spreadsheet into a product catalog (free)

Put one product per row with columns for name and price (plus SKU, category, pack size, description and a photo link if you have them), save it as .xlsx, .xls or .csv, and import it into a catalog. The free plan covers 2 catalogs and 50 products; you get a link and QR code customers can order from and a PDF you can print.

1. Set up the columns

ColumnNeeded?Example
Product nameYesBasmati Rice Premium
PriceYes24.99
Wholesale priceNo19.50
SKUNoRICE-10 (re-importing the same SKU updates the product)
CategoryNoRice & Grains (products are grouped by category)
Unit size / Units per case / Case sizeNo10 lb · 4 · 4 × 10 lb
DescriptionNoOne or two short sentences
Image file or linkNoA https:// link, or the photo's file name

Column names don't have to match exactly: common names such as "item #", "case pack" or "dealer price" are recognised, and you can match the rest by hand. You can also download a ready-made Excel template from the import page.

2. Add photos

  • Paste a web link to each photo in the image column, or
  • Type each photo's file name, then upload the photos (or one .zip) next to the spreadsheet.
  • Square photos on a plain background look the most consistent.

3. Import, pick a design and share

  • Upload the file (Google Sheets: File → Download → .xlsx or .csv first).
  • Choose a catalog design; products drop into the pages by category.
  • Share the link or QR code so customers can browse and send an order, or download a print-ready PDF.
  • When prices change, edit the sheet and import it again: matching SKUs are updated, not duplicated.

Questions

Is it really free?
Yes, up to the Free plan's limits: 2 catalogs and 50 products. Pro ($19/month) raises that to 10 catalogs and 1,000 products.
Can I use Google Sheets?
Yes. Download the sheet as .xlsx or .csv and import that file.
What if my columns have different names?
Common column names are matched automatically, and you can match any others by hand before importing.
