How restaurant owners and managers use this sign

Use signs for opening hours, directions, offers and rules. A sign is read from a distance, often while walking, so it needs very few words in very large type. Worth including: your best review line or years in the neighbourhood.

Put your opening hours and how to order (dine in, takeout or delivery) on everything you print; they are the first questions new guests have. Test it: step back the distance people will read it from and check the main line is still clear.

What to put on it

  • A headline that can be read from across the room
  • A weekday lunch special
  • An arrow, date or time if it helps
  • Your logo, small
