How grocery stores and neighbourhood markets use this gift certificate

Sell them at the counter or online, give them as prizes for local raffles, or use them to say sorry. Each certificate is a promise, so record what you sell. Worth including: local suppliers and fresh deliveries.

Show the price per unit or weight next to the pack price, and keep sale prices in one bright colour. Check your state's rules on gift certificate expiry before adding an expiry date.

What to put on it

  • Amount or service
  • Recipient and sender names
  • A certificate number
  • Expiry date and terms, if any
