How to make a tri-fold brochure (panel order and size)
A tri-fold brochure is usually a letter-size sheet (8.5 × 11 in) folded into three panels. The outside has the front cover on the right, the back panel in the middle and a flap on the left; the inside three panels carry your main content. Start from a template so the panels and folds are already in the right place.
Panel order
| Side | Left panel | Middle panel | Right panel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outside | Inside flap: first thing seen when opened | Back: contact details, map, QR code | Front cover: name, headline, photo |
| Inside | Who you are or the problem you solve | Main services or products | Prices, offer or how to get started |
What to write
- Cover: what you do in a few words, with one strong image.
- Inside: short headings and bullet points; each panel should make sense alone.
- Back: address, phone, website, social handles and a QR code.
Size and printing
Letter (8.5 × 11 in) folded to about 3.67 × 8.5 in is standard in the US; A4 folds to DL (99 × 210 mm) elsewhere. The flap that folds in is made slightly narrower so it closes neatly; templates already allow for it. 80–100 lb gloss text paper folds well.
